hi, i was wondering if any experts can gimme some advice.i started snowboarding this year and i want to buy my first board.i was debating between the gnu chb mtx or the burton clash. i can't make up my mind.. both seems to be really good.. but which one is really worth the money and long run?

I would go w/the gnu in a heartbeat.... cyrus has hit the nail on the head, I snapped my friends 162 clash in the terrain park, (it was his first year and he just wanted instant gratification) but he got a good deal, he paid 150 so not a total loss. In fact, I gave him my custom to make up for it. As you get better you will end up leaving this board behind and regret dropping the 2 bills on it...trust me.... P.S. Mervin Mfg makes awesome boards!!!!

im no expert but the gnu is basically better...the flex will hold up better on bigger runs (when you start doing them in time)...and the construction is more durable, definitly worth it in long run...this board is a little wimpy and isnt very special besides the fact that its good for beginners. -so basically, the gnu will be a little harder to progress on, it wont be as forgiving as the clash, but as you progress you will catch up to the board quickly-where as on this board as soon as you start moving up in difficulty of runs, you will get sick of the lack of control you have, this will just bend and flex under you and not give you any feedback or support when you need it on bigger runseveryone feel free to elaborate on my answer
