.... How does this thing differ from the 103? It's 1mm smaller...

.... How does this thing differ from the 103? It's 1mm smaller on all dimensions, definitely within the margin of error for ski-width measurement, which makes me think this must be the same as the 103 with an internal redesign (softer overall? different tip shape?)Anyone know the scoop?

Your assumptions are correct. The 102 comes from the same exact mold as the 103. The 102 is more user friendly version of the 103 which was an absolute beast. It really is the same ski but just much easier to ski. However this is still an experts only ski and in my opinion a much better ski for someone that is not a superhero like Jeremy Nobis if you know what i mean. Really big strong people that were phenomenal skiers liked the 103 but it was really TOO much ski for damn near everyone on the planet. If are not built like a linebacker you would like the 102 much better.
