yes it is. I know it seems kind of heavy, but really, most of the weight is in the poles. so i suggest is when you go backpacking with a heavy tent, take the poles and put them in a seperate part of your pack.

It is probably just the weight of the tent, but either way, the footprint weight is negligible. Like 2oz or less, which is 2.5% of the overall weight. So negligible.
