are these good for a triathlon to swim in and then jump on a bike or too thick for that?

The 3D Elite Chamois provides very good padding. BC has it a bit wrong listing it at 100mm thick padding, in 2008 and 2009 the padding was updated to 13mm. The padding is triple layered with soft, medium, and high-density foams. No gel is used; gels tend not to disperse heat and sweet as well. The 3D Elite padding is one of the best in the industry.
