honestly i have been wearing the boas for all kinds of activities for years now and never had a failure. i love them! sometimes they get a little less smooth when they get super muddy or dessertified but never fail!

You can always call/contact Boa. Explain what happened and they will send you a replacement for the part that broke. It is relatively easy to switch laces/knobs in and out -- and it takes roughly the same amount of time as swapping a shoelace. Call 303-455-5126. Also, Boa will be launching a Lifetime Guarantee later this year, too.

I'm interested in this shoe -- but didn't want to be left stranded if the cable on it breaks. So I contacted The North Face; they say they are happy to replace the cables or send you new ones.
