I understand these shoes are waterproof and breathe-able but can they stand a hiking trip that's probably going to take a week or two with a 60 lb. pack? If not are there any suggestions?I need them to be affordable and very durable. Thanks

I hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and these boots would give out on me within 500-600 miles. Got them replaced twice and eventually scrapped them all together as the problem repeated itself (cracked sole.) The two boots I would suggest for what you're doing are the two me and my thru-hiking buddy had: the asolo TPS 520 GV which has gone 1400 miles and are still kicking (pun intended) and the mammut Mt. Trail XT GTX which have shown no sign of breakdown after 800 miles. Be careful when looking for a nicely priced boot, if you are putting it to the limits, you will want something reliable and that will last. If that means spending an extra $40 now, that'll save you at least $150 later on a new pair. happy trails

I used the boots for 3 months in the wilderness, hiking over 250 rough, rough miles and they took everything I could throw at them. I got back from that trip in Dec. and have been wearing these boots almost every day since. Amazing boots.

I think you'd be okay with these boots. I'm more prone to going with a specific backpacking boot or even a light mountaineering boot for what you're doing but these are solid boots and will probably do just fine.
