But don't forget to recalibrate the watch to capture the right distance for every turn of wheel. If you measure the actual distance with two marks on the ground, pay attention to put some weight on the tire, or to deflate it a little because of the compression effect that you have with the usual low pressure riding with MTB tires which is not existing (or very few) with road tires.

It will work on Mountain Bikes as long as you don't have a beefed-up Thru-Axle, like a 20mm... if you have a "standard" quick-release on your mtb, you should be good to go.
