Offwidth: breathes better, lighter, stretchier, unlined, warmth equivalent to a long sleeve shirt (not a useful midlayer). Bionic: blocks wind better, heavier, warmer, less stretchy, less breathable, warmth equivalent to a light-to-mid-weight fleece (can be a useful midlayer).

I have both - the MH is for warmer weather where you don't need so much warmth; NF better in colder weather. I'm 5'11', 170, large in MH is good. Medium in NF isn't enough for much layering, but on really cold days, you're going to need more than a softshell anyway. BTW - I love both jackets and would buy them again.

These two softshells are going to be similar. They are both general-use jackets, either for layer in colder weather or just wearing it alone in mild temperatures. They both are water resistant with a DWR coating and they are both stretchy materials. Either one is a good softshell to go with.
