I need arch support and have been trying to find something in a sandal with the support of a Berkenstock, but the comfort and functionality of a Teva. When I try on anything like this, a Merril for instance, there is never enough arch support for someone like me, who wears phase 4 orthotics in my dress shoes. the Venice looks to be about the best out there that I've seen in this regard, but when is somebody going to really pump up the arches for people like me? There is a huge market out there waiting to be exploited.

Chaco Z1 Unaweep has a contoured footbed with higher arch. It's even recommended by the American Podiatry Association.

Hey Tim,Good call. That is a huge opportunity in this industry. High and low arches are actually a matter of muscle activation but that's a long conversation. I don't know that any manufacturer will ever venture down that road. The best bet would be with a smaller more custom manufacturer that doesn't have a mass produced product. Most large manufacturers want to make the most general fitting shoe to fit the absolute most amount of people. Just a marketing thing I guess. Good topic though!
