Did you end up getting these? 34 loosely would likely be a large for you, if you like a little extra room. They run snug around the waist and flare out slightly in the legs. I wear a 34 loosely and the larges fit fine: a little loose. That's what the webbed built in belt is for.

Check the sizing chart, that's what it's there for.------------------Easy now. Medium would be your size. Hope this helps..
