Atlas good for skiiing? Im planning on layering with fleece or softshell and my capilene baselayer... Any downsides - lack of powderskirt, etc?

The Atlas is fairly lightweight for a Gore-Tex Performance Shell jacket but im sure it works just fine for skiing. It doesnt have a powder skirt, which is a downside, but the hood will fit over a helmet. it has pit zips for those hot hikes and such.
