This is a nylon pant, its designed to keep water out..it breathes if you leave them un-velcroed but not extremely well..its purpose is to keep you dry. I usually take mine off between rapids and just throw them on, when I'm worried about getting splashed or taking a swim. Waterproof, they are..breathable..not so much.
