Is it Gore Tex? The customer photo shows gore tex labeling, but I don't see "Gore Tex" in the backcountry write up.

Not Gore-Tex, though made by the same company. If you're looking for something waterproof, look elsewhere. This will shed light rain for a while, but no more than that. Completely windproof, however. It's one of my favorite pieces. It's lasted about six years and is in my regular rotation. "Made by" the Gore-Tex company? Yes. "Is it" Gore Tex? No.

check out the mh website --------------------------The Transition Softshell is considered by Gore to be Gore Windstopper. Windstopper is a division of GoreTex. It was once called Gore N2S (N=next 2=to S=Skin) as it is a Gore Windstopper laminate shell designed to be worn next to your skin almost like long underwear. The reason? The closer you get a windproof (or water proof for that matter) laminate to your body the better it breathes. Breathable... windproof... perfect.
