I'm thinking about this jacket in combination with the MH Beryllium. Can this fit underneath or is it too big? Any need to go one size up from normal on the hard shell?

This layered under the Beryllium would be quite the warm combo! Due to the fact that the Phantom is made with 800 fill down and is extremely compressible you should have no problem layering it under the shell. Also, there is no need to size up on the Beryllium either. It is designed with layering in mind. Hope this info helps!
