The Quicklace isn't mechanical and in a rough/tough environment it's better to avoid anything that could break, or that add "volume" to your shoe

I've been using teh XA Pro 3D Ultra for a year now, averaging 80 km a week on trails - the lace doesn't break, but the first loop where the lace goes thru, does. Quite why this loop is not like the others, supported by a plastic ring, I don't know, but it is a fragile point, making home repair necessary. Otherwise a really great lacing system.

My dog has gotten to my XA Pro 3Ds (he's a ridiculously voracious chewer) and while he took off the fabric straight away he wasn't able to break the laces. I've heard the BOA system can be quirky and sometimes break easily. I've gone through 4 pairs of these and am about to get my 5th pair now!

Just as fast and more practical when it comes to maintenance and improvisation if it breaks. Super strong though, just like the BOA, so i don't see it breaking and have never seen one broken. My shoes are 4 years old and still kicking hard.
