Contact Backcountry.com and they can help you out with it. Same thing happened to my friend's Salomons and she got help from BC and none from Salomon.

I LOVE these shoes too (just ran in ankle deep Colorado snow) but one of my laces has worn off the covering and is about to snap so I wondered about this too.

I've had 3 pair of these and the shoes wear out before the "laces." I've never had one break. They clinch up so quickly that I hate tying regular shoes these days :-)

I've had a pair for quite a while and they haven't worn out, and Salomon has developed a reputation for pitiful customer service regarding this issue (even removing the FAQ from their website). That being said, there are cheap replacement lace kits out there. B/c of bc.com respect, I won't put up those links here, but they're easy enough to find with a quick google search. "Salomon replacement lace kit"cheers.
