is the removable liner like a second thinner glove or something? like the dakine sequoia ones?

Don't know about the Sequia's, but I have these and they do come with a thin liner. I actually wear the liners alone as around town-stick-in-your-pockets-just-in-case gloves. I thought the liners made the shells just a little too tight.
