I know nothing about tents, but my girlfriend and I are going to spend 4 months traveling and hiking around central and South America. Would this be a good tent for us or do you have another recommendation.

Hello,This tent will work well for your back packing trip. At the price you are getting this tent at there is no reason to look at comparable or lighter tents. Make sure you and your girlfriend our adequately prepared for your trip. Practice setting up and packing your tent many times in a controlled environment.Mahalo, Sumo
