I really love "Down Coats" because of the goose feathers "insulation" inside, however, when i get inside from the cold & take off the coat, i'm picking feathers from all over me!With the "Canada Goose Expedition Arctic-Tech Parka" do i have to worry about dealing with feathers coming out & getting all over your clothes? Also, is the Hood removable? If so, is it button down or zip? Thanks

I doubt you are actually leaking down. If you are you have holes in your coat. You are probably using a inferior coat made of say a 80/20 rated down. That would mean it has a lot of feathers in the mix and it is probably the feathers that are coming out. Feathers have a pointed sharp end and that can puncture the nylon outer layer and come through. To be officially labeled down it must have mostly down clusters which won't come through. Down clusters are the complete down from the Duck or Goose. Well anyway blah blah blah you can look all this up if you want. The thing is if you have a true down jacket in good condition you won't have stuff on you after wearing it. Also look for the fill rating. The higher it is the warmer the jacket. A 900 fill power would be way warmer then a 500. Lastly Goose down is better then Duck down. Hope all this helps and didn't bore you to tears.

the jacket doesn't leak down. Think about how cold of weather you need a jacket for. In my opinion (I have one) 15 to 20 degrees F is the MAXIMUM temperature for this coat. It's the warmest thing you'll find besides the Canada Goose Snow Mantra. These have the best hoods for cold weather if you need that kind of thing.

This is enormous overkill for someone whose chief complaint is leaking down. Get the Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero. This won't leak feathers, but neither will that one and it's a third the price. And the MH has a removable hood, this doesn't. On a side, note, down coats doesn't belong in quotes.
