I'm going on a Mission Trip to nome Alaska for the Iditarod Race. My mother bought this Nuptse Down Jacket. Temps range up 20 degrees in the day but get 10 below at night. I will be doing alot of outdoor walking and activity. Will I be warm enough? What type of layering if needed do you recommend for underneath? I have UnderArmor do I need something else? Also< I am 5'6 and 155lbs. She got a medium for me....seems to fit nice now, but I have'nt tried in on with layers yet.

the nupste i a fabulous "lighter" down jacket. for alaska i would definately want a jacket for over - gore-tex best - and layers. i love wool next to my skin for warmth and function. the north face also makes some great wool layering pieces - the softwool crew and 3/4 zip. you will love alaska!
