Will this keep me warm playing in rec. pools and lakes with the kids for hours? In outdoor temps 60+ degrees, water around72

Honestly, I've never found that hydrosilk provides much insulation in the water. It's great to keep the sun off, or if you're getting splashed on a raft, but as far as spending hours in the water, I don't know if this would be the best. The hydroskin is a much better insulator, but it might be too much if you're playing around in 70 degree water. But if you always get cold in the water, I'd give the short sleeve version a shot.
