Alonso,There is a "2mm mid-sole shim protects your feet from sharp rocks." These are designed to be used walking to, in, and around water. These will work for walking on river stones, which are going to be smooth and flat. On top of the mid sole you 7mm of padding that will provide additional comfort.Mahalo, Sumo
