I've actually used it on a number of occasions for spring skiing and thought it worked great. Capeline stretch top, DIAD with the pit zips open and I was good to go for temps 50+. Definately wouldnt suggest for any tempterature lower than that.

This jacket is definitely not made for skiing, nor will it substain low temperatures, although it might make a good layering. It's made out of nylon w/ the hyvent dt coating, not gore-tex. It works well on the up for ski touring!
