I don't see any hip belt pockets, but there are 2 bellows pockets and 2 water bottle pockets."Providing valuable assistance in emergency situations, the buckle on the sternum strap doubles as a whistle and an informative SOS panel is imprinted on the of the lid." <-That's pretty cool
