Just wondering if someone can describe what capilene feels like? Is it softer like wool? Or more like a shiny & stretchy fabric? thank you!

Uhmm....yes. : ) It is a man-made fabric but it's somewhere between cotton and silk as far as feeling. It's slightly stretchy and not at all itchy. I would call it less fibrous than a wool or cotton though. It's very comfortable and quite "sporty." I (and my wife) have several layers of capilene (but I think I now prefer the wool baselayers a little more: either by Patagonia or Icebreaker.) They are more natural and I like the way they feel a little more.
