I'm a beginner to intermediate cross country skier who uses mostly ungroomed trails with occasional groomed trails. Some backcountry but pretty minimal. I'm interested in Rossignols particularly. Is this or another model a good pair for someone like me?

Yes, you seem to describe exactly why I got these skis. I was a little tempted by the BC65's because they are cheaper, but I'm happy I got these for all the ungroomed stuff. See my review and happy skiing.
