im working on adjusting the din settings and am not sure where to adjust the heel piece. any help appreciated.

Yo in order to turn the heel screw, the binding has to be in the boot-in position. You'll strip the screws if the heelpiece is down. An old repair shop tip.

At the end of the piece that sticks up when you clip in there is a screw.
