To mw304001693322 or anyone else who has this jacket. Can you explain more about the pit zips and what was wrong (pictures possibly)? also, what else did you like or dislike?to jbm_132341269, the review says that it does have pit zips and that he was having trouble with them.but as for the windstopper marmot you have (i think they are a little different), what do you think about it?

I just got this in the mail and can confirm that it has pit zips. They might be problematic in a way that they are very short, run only down the sleeve, not down the core, and if you are not layered, you'll feel them on your skin. The kind of zipper which is used there is rather not flexible (main zipper, all the pockets are the same). For me there are other two things which I slightly dislike - the fact, that jacket is rather short - and it doesnn't cover your rear end - although it could be a flow only for me... (I have L, being 6'0" and 180 lbs - which is just exactly between whal L is supposed to be for.) Another thing is that when you have the pockets' zippers opened the jacket makes you look like you are pregnant or at least you have beer muscles well developed. Closing zippers helps it quite a bit.Apart from that it really is a great jacket - well done, fabric is great, feels soft and quite warm, hood works perfectly, it just feels that a little bit too much material in some places which makes it fit strangely. Edited by Jeff: The fact that this jacket even has pitzips says that it's not a proper softshell. A good softshell is so breathable that it doesn't need pit zips. The Meta uses a Gore laminate, which doesn't breathe well enough for high-aerobic activities. I mountain bike in my softshells from Marmot and RAB, without laminate fabrics... and don't need pit zips.
