Do the finger dividers help keep your hands warm? It seems like that would make it just like a glove?

The difference between a glove and this mitten, a glove allows air between the fingers, a mitten does not (even if it has finger dividers.) Thus, by the laws of physics, since there is no cold temperature present in between the fingers of a mitten, the dividers can not make your fingers cold. The reality is that they help keep your fingers warm by removing dead air pockets in the mitten. These dead air pockets can get pretty cold because they have good exposure to the outside of the mitten and little exposure to your fingers. That's why you should always get the smallest size glove/mitten that will fit your hand.
