If you get a helmet with audio in the ears, expect it to hurt your ears. Some hurt more than others. The inherent problem is that a helmet must be tight in order to effectively protect you. With a padded ear part, it's not a big deal. Once you start throwing the inner workings of a headphone in, it's not nearly as comfortable. If you want to overcome this, the best thing to do is take the ear pieces off, ride with earbuds in and a beanie over to keep your head warm/earbuds in. I've tried many different helmets, and everyone with headphones in it hurt me, and those without didn't.
