The Shift Composite Softshell uses two different weights of Polartec Power Shield in order to provide a lighterweight alternative to the original Shift Softshell. You will see the lighter-weight Polartec Power Shield in the body/underarms of jacket (dark gray in image above). The heavier-weight (light gray in image) Polartec Power Shield (same weight as original Shift Softshell) is used in the more abrasion-prone areas, i.e. cape, outer arms, etc...Polartec Power Shield = very abrasion resistant, blocks 98% of wind, water repellent, highly breathable, good stretch
