Just measured mine on my car. The total width is about 31" or about 75cm. The actual width useable for equiptment is about 23" or roughly 58cm. I snowboard and have two wide versions, and if placed properly I can still fit 4 boards; I have fit 2 snowboards and 3 pair of skis on this at once.
