I just got this rack.. On my trip I was fortunate enough to end up with these results. Two of our boards had bindings that folded down far enough not to contact the roof, the other two would not. I have a WRX. Otherwise I'd cut some foam pieces out and the pressure from the boards would hold them against the car. Not a big enough problem to not get the rack in my opinion.
