I run in an older version of this shoe, but I'm training for big ultra endurance event and though I love everything about this shoe I notice my toes get really sore after a lot of miles. I need a new pair and was thinking about getting the waterproof XT Wings. Does anyone have experience with both and can shed some light on the difference?

The XT wings is more comfortable to run on the long haul. The sole is less stiff and provides more cushioning. The heel to toe transition is also better than with the XA Pro 3D which is designed to endure the toughest conditions in the mountain. Extra stability with a low to the ground profile and superior protection especially artound the toebox and underfoot with the chassis which prevents rock pinching. I'd recommend you to go for the XT Wings and you'll probably forget your sored toes
