Hi There. CW-X products are designed to hold up to normal use as either an outerlayer or a baselayer. All I can tell you is that I have been using the same pair of insulated tights for my third season already and the wear is minimal. CW-X construction is very good. and if you ever have any problems CW-X has a one year manufacturer's warranty. Hope this helps.
