Ok so it doesnt come with the sleeping bag compartment, but can you still attach a sleeping bag to the bottom or top of it?

Check out the Deuter ACT Lite SL 35+10L and 45+10L models. Backcountry.com doesn't seem to carry them. IMO, if you are taking a sleeping bag (and mat, etc?), you may want a bit more volume just to make packing easier. Having stuff hanging off the outside is bummer. Check out the Osprey ladies stuff too. Good for smaller people.

The Futura Pro 34SL has a zippered sleeping bag compartment separator flap and 4 D-rings on top for attachment points.
