in my previous pairs of pants i seem to get little tares in the inside of my legs from my edges. i see these don't have any extra padding like other pants. How do they hold up?

I had some of these and after a season I had no cuts. They were quite high quality for the price. The only thing I didn't like about them was the material the outer shell was made from - it was a little cheap feeling(it performed well). I think it may have just been personal preference and I normally love Orage gear.
