Which softshell jacket would you recommend for a 23 year old...

Which softshell jacket would you recommend for a 23 year old college guy- lives in Savannah, GA and goes to school in Athens, Ga? He doesn't have any type of fleece so I want to get something warm, but didn't know between the Marmot Moran and North Face Apex Thermal Bionic Jacket which would be best for him- not only for warmth, but also which looks better...I can't decide! He had mentioned that he like the North Face before, but he has never seen the Marmot to know which he would like better.

I am 23 and I own a Mountain Hardware Alchmey soft shell and LOVE it! As far as the two you have mentioned I would go with Marmot. It looks better and most of all it out performs the TNF.

I have a Mountain Hardwear Synchro and love it (I'm 25.) And the Patagonia Guide jackets are great as well.
