How much does the coat weigh? Is it good for mountaineering where you need light weight? How easy is it to move in this coat? thanks!

This is not a lightweight or packable jacket. It's heavily insulated and the fabric is thick and durable, making it the kind of garment you'd wear for slow to stationary activities in extreme cold. Think "Research Scientist at the North Pole" rather than mountain climber. It won't fit in anything smaller than a mid-sized duffel bag, even balled up as small as possible.

The weight is roughly 2.5 lbs. or just slightly under. I don't know that this would be the best jacket for mountaineering. Not waterproof, plenty warm but this is just more of a frigid expedition jacket.....in my opinion.
