looks great, any other comments about this jacket? room for layers? Is it warm enough without layers?

Lets be honest you are not going to get much insulation from just this shirt but it should be keeping you dry fairly well. What is important is while you are not upside down will it breathe, and yes it is nice. Get a softshell or something on if you need to stay warmer, or climb out of the wuss box, either one.
