From Julbo's website: "All Julbo lenses are optical category 1, guaranteeing 100% protection against UVA, B and C radiation." http://www.julbousa.com/lenses/ They are polycarbonate lenses, and as such the UV protection is inherent in the material. http://www.allaboutvision.com/lenses/polycarb.htm These really are nice sunglasses especially for kids since they fit well and are easily worn. My 6 yr old wears them every day at recess, and whenever she is outside after school. She actually will ask for them if we have left them in the car or her locker--she really appreciates the protection they provide. Good luck.
