I am wondering if you order in your standard size if they would be roomy enough to spend long hours on a plane or bus, or should you order a size larger to get the extra room?Thanks.

Yes, these are a pretty slim fit, most people should get the next size up. I wear a 34 waist, but the 36 fits perfectly, without falling off (no elastic in this version of the paramount)
