I am a female BUT why buy women's trekking poles? also I only do road walking (10k a day) are these good for road work

A women's specific fit runs under the general assumption that women have smaller hands (my wife is an excellent example--tiny hands!) and are often times shorter than men. They reduce the size of the grips to make them more comfortable, and they remove some of the length in the poles to save weight not unlike women specific sleeping pads (the length-weight issue.) As to usage, my aunt does a lot of roadwork with nordic walking poles. You may want to look into those if you're not going to do any hiking offroad with these--the carbide tips won't help you as much on tar or concrete.
