Will it work on rough terrain trail-running? I run on trails with lots of roots, ups and downs, creek-jumping (but not too much actual rough rock climbing). My concern is that they're too light duty for my purposes. Any thoughts?

I think you might be surprised with the overall performance of this shoe. As with all shoes, this depends slightly on your weight, height, and all-around agility, but for the average person, this shoe has more than enough support for the rough terrain you mentioned above. It's tightening system locks to your entire foot, and there is much added support around the instep and heel.
