I have used Solomon XA Pro 3Ds for lightweight backpacking for a number of years. The 3Ds provided very good cushioning from heal strikes. How do these shoes compare?

The answer is very simple: More cushioning and more responsiveness than the XA Pro 3D due to the combination of a more resilient EVA and the energized elastomer tendon on the heel

I really like the XT wings. I had the Salomon GCS XCR, they are similar to the XA Pro 3Ds, but seem to have a thicker sole kinda like the XT wings. I like em. I run on pavement with them and it feels good. I'm 6'3" 200lb.
