The Triact lock is the safest, as there are three parts (read, tri) to the locking mechanism. They also don't freeze in an alpine environment and are easy to use with gloves. look at the Petzl Am'D instead. It's lighter, cheaper, and stronger.

Screw locks are super reliable and a classic, but the flick locks are nice. "best" is a relative term to your needs. Get one of each and see what you think. I may like the flick lock but someone else might say that screw lock is the only way to go.
