I am going to buy a trailer hitch from an autopart store but it looks like only a 1 1/4 inch receiver is available for my Subaru... will this rack work?

It has a "sleeve" that goes over the end to make it 2", but it is 1 1/4 just out of the box. The sleeve fits over the 1 1/4" part and the screw holes align so it goes on the hitch the same either way. My 2" hitch had some wiggle room in it with the 2" sleeve on, but the threaded bolt really helps tighten it down.

Yes. I was looking at the Yakima fitment guide on their site. This rack works with both 2 inch and 1 1/4 inch hitches.
