My kids will be skiing in Aspen in late January. I intend to have them wear chilly thermals and a sweater. Will this jacket be warm enough?

I think so; this is my son's second triclimate. He wears a base layer, fleece or sweater and the triclimate and is plenty warm skiing in Vermont.
