The boot IS set up for snowshoes, hence the lip on the back of the heel. It is designed to hold the rear snowshoe strap in place. As for crampons, you can use this boot with a strap-on style crampon. But this boot is not at all designed for any sort of technical climbing or mountaineering.

Only if they are the type that strap on. The boot is definitely stiff enough but isn't set up for binding-style crampons or snowshoes.
