let your feet get used to those straps before you take them on a long hike. i didn't do that and got some blisters on the sides of my big toes. but those straps fit pretty snugly so there isn't too much rubbing.Maybe you shouldn't get the ones which fit the toe. I use the other ones, and they are fantastic. No rubbing at all even if you wear them all day long.
